Cats Around Us: Giant Cat from Publisher Silesia Games and Developer Noobzilla
More hidden Cat fun!
Another hidden cat game from Silesia games. The game follows the same concept as the other games in this series where you start out with a black and white page (or whatever color combination you prefer) where you find the hidden cats around the level. Once you find and click on the cat they become colored in and provide you with some cute details about the cat.
The levels are smaller than we’ve seen on some of their other games. Instead of the more sprawling and elaborate mural-like maps the levels here are more like comic or manga pages. They are also less numerous as there are only 4 levels in this game.
Each of the first 3 levels contains hidden puzzle pieces to collect in addition to the many cats. These puzzle pieces are required to unlock the following level. You can solve the puzzle if you’d like to but you also have the option to skip the puzzle by pressing a button. Unfortunately, the on screen indicator for which button to press only shows the Nintendo switch version of the button which was a little confusing for us on Xbox.
The puzzles are easy to solve as the puzzles are only 25 pieces. You will need to rotate most of the pieces to get them in the correct orientation to place them in their spots. Luckily, the puzzle pieces lock in once placed into the correct locations so it’s easy to know for sure when you’ve got them in the right place. We do wish we could remap the puzzle reset button as we hit it by mistake a bunch of times when trying to rotate the puzzle pieces.
As you might have guessed by the game’s title, each level has at least 1 Giant cat. One of our reviewers actually missed the giant cat on the first level because it was so big it was the background, hiding through the sheer size of it.
It has all of the same quality of life additions from the previous games like photo mode which lets you take a photo of the map and color it like a coloring book as well as the massive amount of color options to select making it easier for people with color sensitivity. They also have 4 different background music tracks you can choose from and a dozen different pointers you can switch out.
There is also a stopwatch mode for replayability if you want to see how fast you can complete the levels.
Overall it’s a short and sweet game with a price to match.
